THE FUTURE IS AS BRIGHT AS THE PROMISES OF GOD
It is easier to look back and smile about yesterday's accomplishments than to look ahead and think about tomorrow's possibilities. More...

God’s Word was meant to be read.
But more than that, it was meant to be understood. It was first written in the language of the people—of fishermen, shopkeepers, and carpenters. The Message gets back to that: You can read it and understand it.
In The Message Remix, there are new verse-numbered paragraphs that will help you study and find favorite passages. Or, you can just read it like a book and let the narrative impact you. After all, it is God’s story, with its heroes and villains, conflicts and resolutions. Either way, it’s God’s Word—the Truth—in a user-friendly form.
An Excerpt from The Message.
"The world is full of so-called prayer warriors who are prayer-ignorant. They’re full of formulas and programs and advice, peddling techniques for getting what you want from God. Don’t fall for that nonsense. This is your Father you are dealing with, and he knows better than you what you need. With a God like this loving you, you can pray very simply. Like this:
Our Father in heaven,
Reveal who you are.
Set the world right;
Do what’s best—
as above, so below.
Keep us alive with three square meals.
Keep us forgiven with you and forgiving others.
Keep us safe from ourselves and the Devil.
You’re in charge!
You can do anything you want!
You’re ablaze in beauty!
Yes. Yes. Yes.
'In prayer there is a connection between what God does and what you do.
You can’t get forgiveness from God, for instance, without also forgiving others.
If you refuse to do your part, you cut yourself off from God’s part.'"
Matthew 6:7-15 - The Message Bible.

God with us today
A year ago, I bought The Message because I wanted to start understanding the bible. I was raised Irish Catholic, and was never really taught what a great reference the bible is, and any bible I did read didn't really have an impact on me. The Message has broadened my interest in what the bible can do for us. I never knew that each book of the bible had a different story to tell, a story that teaches, stimulates and draws us closer to our walk with God. I believe that God would praise The Message as a great new resource for people to learn about Him, and that the fact that it is written in modern language would please Him as Jesus seemed to relate to everyone He met on their own level in a way that they would understand. If it brings even one person closer to God, doesn't that justify it?

The Message
This is the best Bible for new Christians that are overwhelmed by the language in other translations. I have given many away to members of my husband's family, who were not raised in church. This is a Bible they can read and learn from without being stressed out about all the words beyond their comprehension. Thank-you God,The Holy Spirit and all the hard work of Eugene Peterson!
