South Bay Community Church -

The Bible does not use the word membership. Instead, it uses the word "family." Just as we are all a part of a physical family God, our Heavenly Father, want us joined and identified with His spiritual family. The Bible teaches these three things:

1. The church is God's family.

            "…You are members of God's very own family… and you belong in God's household
            with every other Christian." Ephesians 2:19 (LB)

2. God expects you to be part of a local church family.

            "Let's not neglect our church meetings, as some people do." Hebrews 10:25a (LB)

3. A Christian without a church family is a contradiction in terms.

            "Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it." 1 Corinthians 12:24
